PT. Dongsuh Securities (DS) started its business in October 8, 1995 as a joint venture company between Dongsuh Securities Co. Ltd. in Korea and Enseval Group of Indonesia. in April 1999, it was taken over by a locally domiciled Korean company named PT. Pratama Abadi Industri in the wake of IMF crisis in the southeast Asian Countries in the period of 1997-1999 However, management team of the company remained solidified so that the company could sustain its growth, overcoming all the difficulties. Furthermore, the company has continued to increase its paid-in capital to Rp 41.2 billion from its initial amount of 11.2 billion in 1995. DS has been succesfully grasping a stable position as a reliable market player with its credibility over the past thirteen years both locally and abroad, especially from Korean community in Indonesia. DS has also gained good reputation from Korean financial institutions in Korea with its deep insight into Indonesia and expertise as a good business partner.

A Leader in Local market

Since its establishment, DS has played a major role in the transfer of Capital Market know-how to Indoneisan capital market. DS was the first securities firm in Indonesian to install a gallery equipped with an electronic board of stock price movement. DS has made considerable efforts in introducing Indonesia capital market to Korean investor by hosting several official and unofficial events. Especially, DS held an Investment Seminar in 2000 at Seoul in cooperation with Indonesian Banking Restructuring Agency (IBRA). in 2006, DS also held an Investment Seminar introducing several projects of Indonesia Natural Resources (Mining, Palm Plantation, etc) at Seoul.As a result,a few deals have been done succesfully between Korean investors and local operators. And others are now undergoing. DS is also providing investment management services throught its subsidiary of Dongsuh Investment Management Co (DOSIM) with a type of private fund for equity and short-term fixed income bonds.Two spot funds were among major examples, winding up shortly after achieving its target returns.

Looking Forward

With a view to enhancing its competitiveness and better service to clients, DS has been developing its Home Trading System by the name of 'DOIT' supported by Korean IT specialists. It plans to launch officially July 2008. In September 2007, DS launched Dongsuh Natural Resources Fund (DNRF) focusing on Commodities of Indonesia.With all achievement,DS will expand business boundaries with issuing mutual fund, providing investment for proper project and introducing various finance products to customers. This year we expect to see substantial outcome in the area of natural resource project, sought for long by DS for Korean investors.
